New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- Wall Street's key stock indices were mixed on Wednesday ahead of a widely anticipated interest-rate cut from the Federal Reserve later in the day.

As of 12:48 PM Eastern Time, the S&P 500 edged down by 0.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite was 0.6% lower.

At 10:08 AM ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 249.20 points, or 0.54%, to 46,007.10, the S&P 500 lost 4.69 points, or 0.07%, to 6,602.07, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 73.47 points, or 0.33%, to 22,259.64.

At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 20.5 points, or 0.04%, to 45,778.4. The S&P 500 fell 1.9 points, or 0.03%, to 6,604.87, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.9 points, or flat, at 22,333....
