New Delhi, March 20 -- The US Justice Department has announced that it dismantled four massive botnets responsible for some of the largest distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks in history. The Justice Department says the four botnets targeted in the operation infected millions of devices worldwide, with the majority being Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as digital video recorders, web cameras, and Wi-Fi routers.
"The four botnets launched Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks targeting victims around the world. Some of these attacks measured approximately 30 terabits per second, which were record-breaking attacks," the Justice Department said in a statement.
