New Delhi, July 29 -- US President Donald Trump has vowed forceful retaliation after Iranian ballistic missiles targeted US forces in Jordan. "We are going to beat the f* out of them."

"We'll be hitting them hard. They're going to get a beating," Trump said, according to Fox News.

According to the network, Trump said American troops had only a few minutes to intercept the incoming missiles and added that he had personally reviewed footage of the operation.

Trump also called Iran-backed militias "a cancer on the world" and said overnight US strikes on Iran-backed Iraqi Shi'ite militias were carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government, Fox News reported.
