New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- US President Donald Trump has said he intends to increase the United States military budget for the 2027 financial year to $1.5 trillion, a rise of 50 per cent from the previously floated $1 trillion figure. Writing on Truth Social, Trump said the decision followed "long and difficult negotiations" with senior lawmakers and administration officials, and was driven by what he described as an increasingly dangerous global environment.
