New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- The US government has cancelled the commercial truck driver licences (CDLs) of around 28,000 non-citizens as it launched an initiative where these drivers will be replaced by veterans of the US military.

This programme was confirmed by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday.

The new campaign was launched last week, and it will be promoting programs that will allow veterans with the experience of driving large vehicles to skip the required skill tests to obtain a commercial driver's licence, breitbart.com reported.
