Indian stock market, Sept. 13 -- Indian equity markets extended their losing streak for a fifth straight week, weighed down by elevated crude oil prices, rising global bond yields and persistent concerns over US inflation.
The benchmarks opened the week on a weak footing and remained under pressure for most of the trading sessions. The Sensex declined 2.27% to end at 74,781.76, while the Nifty slipped 2.09% to 23,398.10. Broader markets also faced selling pressure, with the midcap index falling 1.40% and the smallcap index declining 0.88%.
