New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple CEO after nearly 15 years at the helm. He will move into the executive chairman role while John Ternus currently serves as the hardware division's head and will take charge of the company's daily operations on Sept. 1. Cook became CEO in August 2011, just before Steve Jobs's death, and had to take the helm of Apple from one of the most influential founders in the technology industry.
