New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- India's biggest technology services company's recent decision to lay off 2% of its workforce does not warrant any intervention from the government of Karnataka since it was a business decision, said Priyank Kharge, minister for information technology in the state government.

Speaking with Mint on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 2025 Bengaluru Tech Summit in here on Friday, Kharge said: "As far as I'm aware, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services Ltd) overestimated their business and had a heavy bench strength, thus leading to a course correction.
