New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- The Taiwan stock market is on a spree of smashing old records and setting new ones. Taiwan Weighted Index (TAIEX) closed at a fresh record closing high of 48,475.74 on 2 October. Meanwhile, its all-time high is 48,601.53, which it scaled on 22 September this year.

The index has soared 65% this year so far, compared to an almost similar gain (62.5%) in Korea's Kospi, a 32% jump in Japan's Nikkei, and an about 16% rise in Wall Street's Nasdaq.

The Taiwanese market's stellar bull run has dazzled investors this year. On a monthly scale, it ended lower only in March (down 10%) and July (down 6.5%) this year.
