New Delhi, May 22 -- The Indian stock market is expected to see a positive opening on Friday, as global markets rose amid hopes of a US-Iran peace deal. The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a flat-to-positive start for the Indian benchmark indices, Nifty 50 and Sensex.

The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,658 level, a premium of nearly 27 points from the Nifty futures' previous close.

The domestic equity market ended lower in the previous session, weighed down by profit booking in select index heavyweights.
