New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- The Indian stock market witnessed healthy gains for the second consecutive session on Thursday, October 16, with benchmarks the Sensex and the Nifty 50 rising by almost a per cent each, tracking positive global cues.
On Thursday, the Sensex rose more than 700 points, or nearly 0.90 per cent, to hit an intraday high of 83,330. The NSE counterpart, Nifty 50, too, rose by 0.90 per cent to hit the day's high of 25,544.
In two days, the Sensex has risen by 1,300 points or nearly 1.6 per cent, even as concerns over US tariffs and valuations persist.
