New Delhi, Nov. 3 -- Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries' chairman and managing director, has reclaimed the title of Asia's richest person, overtaking ByteDance co-founder Zhang Yiming, according to Forbes.

With a nearly 12% surge in Reliance Industries shares on Monday, Ambani added $ 8.5 billion to his wealth, pushing his estimated net worth to $88.8 billion on the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list.

This 10.5% jump in his fortune helped Ambani climb to the 23rd spot on the global billionaire index.

Mukesh Ambani edged past China's Yiming, the former CEO of the TikTok parent company, who currently ranks 25th with an estimated net worth of $84 billion.
