New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Indian equities advanced on Wednesday, 3 September, with benchmarks staging a strong recovery from early losses as investors bet on GST slab rationalization to lift consumption. The Sensex gained 410 points, or 0.51%, to close at 80,567.71, while the Nifty 50 rose 135 points, or 0.55%, to 24,715.05.
Broader indices outperformed, with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices up 0.63% and 0.90% respectively, while Bank Nifty added 0.76% on renewed buying in financials.
