Pune property owners, landlords, PG owners, alert! Do this or face police action; tenants must pay attention, too
New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- Pune's registration department has issued a clear warning to property owners across the city. Landlords and Paying Guest (PG) operators must register their leave-and-licence agreements or risk police action. As many as 175 landlords and PG operators have faced action in just two weeks.
Pune has a large floating population of students, professionals, and businesspersons from across Maharashtra and other states. Many reside in rented accommodation without formal agreements in place.
Property owners must opt for registered leave and licence agreements. Notarised rent pacts are not sufficient under the current drive.
