Petrol, diesel prices increased for 4th time since May 15 - How costlier is fuel now in your city?
New Delhi, May 25 -- In yet another way to ease the impact of volatility in the global crude markets amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, the petrol and diesel prices were hiked again on Monday, May 25. This is the fourth increase in petrol and diesel prices since May 15. While diesel prices were increased by by Rs. 2.71 per litre, petrol was hiked by Rs. 2.61 per litre.
After the latest revision, petrol prices in Delhi crossed the Rs.100-mark, rising by Rs.2.61 to Rs.102.12 per litre, while diesel prices increased by Rs.2.71 to Rs.95.20 per litre. Similar hikes were witnessed across major metropolitan cities, including Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai, adding to the burden on consumers and transport operators.
