New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store clarified to US President Donald Trump that the Norwegian government has no authority over deciding Nobel laureates. He made the remarks while confirming that he received a message from Trump over the Nobel Peace Prize snub.

"I have clearly explained, including to President Trump, what is well known, the prize is awarded by an independent Nobel Committee and not the Norwegian Government. I am happy to repeat that," Jonas Gahr Store said in a statement, as per a video shared by Al Jazeera English.
