New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its final chargesheet in the Tirupati laddu adulteration case and found that there was no beef tallow or lard in the ghee used to make the laddu prasadam between 2019 and 2024, the Indian Express reported on 30 January.
The chargesheet was filed on 23 January before the Anti-Corruption Bureau court in Nellore. The ghee used for laddu preparation was adulterated with vegetable oils, and laboratory esters were used to chemically mimic dairy parameters, the chargesheet said. It did not find that animal fat was used.
