New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to have flat-to-negative start on Tuesday, 1 September, amid weak global cues.

The Gift Nifty trends also indicated a muted start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading at around 24,197.5, a 54-point discount to the Nifty futures' previous close.

The domestic equity indices ended negative in the previous session, with the benchmark Nifty 50 closing below 24,100 level.

The Sensex declined 307.24 points, or 0.40%, to close at 76,957.27, while the Nifty 50 settled 95.25 points, or 0.39%, lower at 24,080.40.
