New Yamuna ghat in Haripur Kalsi combines religious infrastructure with visitor facilities
New Delhi, Sept. 18 -- The Uttarakhand government has dedicated a Rs.7.52 crore bathing ghat at Haripur Kalsi's Yamuna riverbank, with the development focusing on facilities for devotees, riverfront safety and visitor access. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the facility during a programme held on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, where the riverbank was illuminated with 2,100 lamps.
Dhami participated in the Yamuna aarti with saints, devotees and local residents during the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' programme. The event also included the unveiling of a Maa Yamuna statue and the inauguration of Harighat. The foundation stone of the Maa Yamuna Krishna Temple was laid on the occasion.
