New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- Elena Rybakina won the 2026 US Open women's singles title after defeating Aryna Sabalenka in three sets in the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Saturday. Rybakina overcame Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to claim the title.

Sabalenka entered the final as the defending champion, having won the US Open in 2024 and 2025. She was attempting to become the first woman since Serena Williams to win the tournament three consecutive times. However, Rybakina had other plans.

Rybakina began her campaign with a straight-sets victory over Thea Frodin, winning 6-3, 6-2 in the opening round. She then defeated Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-2, 6-4 in the second round before overcoming Yuliia Starodubtseva 7-6(8-6), 6-3 in the third r...
