New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- There was rarely anything understated about Nana Patekar on screen. His unmistakable voice, sharp expressions and intense performances could turn even a few lines of dialogue into a memorable cinematic moment.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar, one of the most recognised performers in Hindi and Marathi cinema, died on Thursday at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa.

Patekar was reportedly found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula and was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where he was declared dead at 5:20 am. Doctors attempted to revive him for around 45 minutes but could not revive him.
