Mumbai, April 1 -- City Mayor and BJP leader Ritu Tawde has drawn attention after claiming that a long-standing throat ailment was cured through the blessings of a "gurudev", after medical treatment failed to provide relief - an outcome she described as a "miracle".

Speaking at a public event in Borivali on Tuesday, Tawde said she had been dealing with the issue for nearly two years despite undergoing treatment, news agency PTI reported.

"My voice was not like this. I told Param Gurudev ji that I was taking medicines, but nothing was helping. I am in shock," she said.
