New Delhi, Nov. 1 -- The Maldives has announced a nationwide ban on tobacco for those born in or after 2007.
In an official announcement, the Maldives Health Ministry on Saturday, November 1, said the country has become the first nation to implement a generational ban on tobacco.
"Individuals born on or after 1 January 2007 are banned from purchasing, using, or being sold tobacco products in the Maldives," the notification read.
