Madan Mitra quits Mamata Banerjee's TMC, joins rebel camp: 'Only changed my room, not my house'
New Delhi, July 15 -- West Bengal Kamarhati MLA and veteran Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Madan Mitra has resigned from Mamata Banerjee camp to join rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee.
Considered a loyalist of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, Madan Mitra's joining the rebel camp only deepens the rift that has found it's way into the party.
Madan Mitra, the Kamarhati MLA, announced that he had resigned from all national and state committees functioning under the Mamata Banerjee-aligned TMC.
The legislator also said he stepped down from the party's chief whip post with immediate effect.
