Kolkata warehouse collapses: Five dead, 20 injured, Army roped in for rescue ops, says CM Suvendu
New Delhi, June 24 -- Five people died and 20 were injured as an under-construction warehouse in the Taratala area of west Kolkata collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said.
Sharing an update on the toll, Adhikari said, "The death toll stands at five. A total of 20 people are injured of whom 2 are in ICCU (Intensive Coronary Care Unit) and 18 are out of danger."
Hours before, he had said, "NDRF, Army, SDRF, Police, Fire Department are all together working here. 21 people have been rescued. Three people have lost their lives. SSKM Hospital is working. Around 12-18 people are trapped inside. They have come in contact with the Indian Army..."
