New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- US Vice President JD Vance shed light on why the United States imposed "secondary tariffs" on India. Vance said on Sunday President Donald Trump has applied "aggressive economic leverage," such as "secondary tariffs on India, to try to make it harder for the Russians to get rich from their oil economy."
Vance's comments came in response to a question on "what the pressure is on Russia if the US is not "imposing new sanctions." In an interview with NBC, he was asked, "How do you get them [Russia] to a place of getting to the table with Zelenskyy and stopping to drop bombs?"
Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker", Vance said that "the energetic diplomacy" is "going to bring this war to a close."
