New Delhi, March 4 -- The ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has set a new viewership record in India, with more than 500 million people tuning in on JioHotstar. This is also the highest-ever viewership for any T20 World Cup edition in history.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah announced the news via micro-blogging platform X on Wednesday. Shah, in his post, also added that JioHotstar hit a peak of 60.5 million concurrent views.

"The journey of the @ICC #T20WorldCup 2026 began with the ambition to make it the most #global & #accessible Cricket event ever. I am humbled that viewership for the event in India has crossed 500 million, the highest ever for any T20 World Cup in history," he wrote in his post.
