New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- The Harmanpreet Singh-led Indian side will lock horns with Argentina in a crucial Pool E match of the 2026 FIH Men's Hockey World Cup in Amstelveen on Monday. India suffered a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands in their opening match of Pool E on Saturday, thus making the match against Argentina a must-win clash.

The defeat to the Netherlands means that India remain in fourth place in Pool E without any points after two matches. The top two teams from Pools E and F secure qualification to the semi-finals. For India to qualify for the semi-finals, they need to beat Argentina by three goals and hope that the Netherlands beat England in the other match.
