New Delhi, Nov. 20 -- The US State Department has approved the sale of a FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile system and the M982A1 Excalibur precision-guided artillery munitions worth $93 million to India.

In a notification on Thursday, Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) in a notification said US State Department has approved the sale of $93 million worth of military equipment.

This is the first time New Delhi has purchased defence equipment from Washington after US President Donald Trump doubled tariffs on Indian goods to 50% as punishment for the country's purchases of Russian oil.
