India must move quickly on digital trade-its agreement with the UK could play catalyst
New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) sets up a framework for cross-border digital trade rules. This is important because both India and the UK are among the top global exporters of Digitally Delivered Services (DDS) or services that can be delivered electronically through digital platforms.
According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), India exported $328 billion worth of DDS in 2025, making it the world's fourth largest exporter.
