In a first, West Bengal to see a complete liquor ban on Ashtami during Durga Puja, CM Suvendu Adhikari announces
New Delhi, Sept. 7 -- The Suvendu Adhikari government in West Bengal has announced that on the day of Ashtami during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, all liquor shops across the state will be closed. On that day, alcohol will also not be served in bars and restaurants.
Alcohol shops remain open in West Bengal during Shashti to Navami, while they remain closed on Dashami or the day of Dussehra.
Ashtami this year falls on Monday, 19 October.
With this new order of the BJP government, there will be two dry days in West Bengal during Durga Puja.
