New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- A low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas is likely to trigger isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in east Madhya Pradesh on 22 August, while monsoon activity is expected to remain subdued over peninsular India during the coming week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Central India is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall through the week, according to the latest forecast. West Madhya Pradesh is expected to see such activity during 22-25 August, while east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive widespread rainfall during 22-27 August. Vidarbha is forecast to receive widespread rainfall during 23-25 August.
