New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Ukraine is ready to sign a landmark drone defence agreement with the United States as Washington looks to tap Kyiv's battlefield experience in countering low-cost, mass-produced unmanned systems, CBS News reported on Tuesday (local time).

According to the report, citing sources, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is prepared to sign the agreement on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.

However, the report said the deal could instead be finalised at a later date when the US is ready to sign.

Ukraine's battlefield-tested drone technology has particularly gained attention amid the recent war involving Iran.
