New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- Hinduja Group Chairperson Gopinath P Hinduja passed away in London, reports said on Tuesday citing sources close to the family.

The industry stalwart was 85 at the time of his death.

Gopinath Hinduja, known popularly as GP among business partners, was unwell for past few weeks and died in a London hospital, a PTI report said quoting sources.

Belonging to the second generation of the family, Gopinath Hinduja took over as Chairman of the Hinduja Group after his elder brother Srichand died in May 2023.

Born in 1940 in India, Gopichand Hinduja was the richest person in the United Kingdom for seven consecutive years.
