Hindalco beats Q1 estimates, remains cautious on bauxite auctions
Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- Mumbai: Hindalco Industries Ltd beat estimates in the June quarter but signalled it would not let buoyant profits dictate its bidding strategy, saying it will remain financially disciplined while pursuing bauxite mines despite record auction premiums and intensifying competition.
The Aditya Birla Group metal flagship reported an almost 75% jump in net profit attributable to owners to Rs.7,013 crore in the quarter from Rs.4,004 crore a year ago, according to exchange filings. Profit beat the Rs.5,809 crore estimate of 17 Bloomberg analysts.
The company's consolidated revenue rose to Rs.84,825 crore for Q1FY27 from Rs.64,232 crore, while consolidated Ebitda stood at Rs.14,989 crore, up 73% year-on-year.
