New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- Gold and silver prices were down on the MCX on Tuesday morning amid an uptick in the US dollar and bond yields, ahead of US inflation data and the Jackson Hole Symposium this week.

MCX gold October contracts were 0.05% down at Rs.1,63,141 per 10 grams, while MCX silver September futures were 0.69% down at Rs.2,42,544 per kg around 9:10 AM.

The dollar index has been in the green for three consecutive sessions, weighing on gold's appeal. The US 10-year and 30-year bond yields also climbed as concerns over inflation and piling US debt triggered a selloff in long-dated debt.
