New Delhi, July 7 -- Belgium thumped the United States of America (USA) 4-1 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 round-of-16 clash in Seattle on Monday, knocking the co-hosts out of the tournament.

Charles de Ketelaere was the star for Belgium as he netted a first-half brace and also provided an assist to take the Red Devils to the quarter-finals, where they will take on Spain in Los Angeles on Friday. The USA's loss also means all the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosts have now been knocked out.

All attention pre-game had been on Balogun's place in the USA starting lineup, after US President Donald Trump had asked FIFA to review the striker's one-game suspension for a red card, and the governing body controversially obliged.
