New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- A man who allegedly posed as a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) official was arrested in Mumbai while trying to enter an event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, police said on Tuesday.

The man, identified as Rohan Parekh, arrived with another person who was carrying a gun and claimed to be his bodyguard, police said.

Ahead of Modi's programme, security personnel checked Parekh's documents and became suspicious. His PMO identity card was also found to be suspicious during the inquiry.

Both men were taken into custody, police added.
