New Delhi, June 12 -- New Delhi: India's apex drug regulator has asked cosmetics manufacturers and importers to adhere to prescribed standards for hair-colour products and promptly disclose any changes in their composition or formulation, according to a circular and two government officials familiar with the development.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation's (CDSCO) directive follows concerns that chemicals used in such products may cause allergic reactions, skin irritation and scalp sensitivity.
