New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- US President Donald Trump said on Monday (august 25) he hopes to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un this year. Speaking in the Oval Office while welcoming South Korea's new President Lee Jae Myung, Trump said:
"I'd like to meet him this year. I look forward to meeting with Kim Jong Un in the appropriate future."
Trump and Lee met for the first time amid lingering tensions. The U.S. president had earlier raised vague complaints about a "Purge or Revolution" in South Korea on social media but later walked back the comments, attributing them to a possible "misunderstanding."
