New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- Country music icon Dolly Parton died at the age of 80 after being diagnosed with cancer, leaving behind an estimated net worth of more than $450 million, according to published estimates.

Parton's family announced her death on Tuesday in an emotional statement. Her journey from a two-room log cabin in rural Tennessee to becoming one of country music's wealthiest and most recognisable performers remains central to her legacy.
