New Delhi, March 16 -- A Delhi-bound Air India flight operating from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York was diverted to Ireland's Shannon Airport on Sunday due to a suspected technical issue.

Flight AI102 was operating from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on March 15.

"Flight AI102 operating from New York (JFK) to Delhi on 15 March made a precautionary diversion to Shannon, Ireland, following a suspected technical issue," the spokesperson said.

"The flight AI1102 safely landed at Shannon Airport at 4:30 am local time," an Air India spokesperson was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.
