New Delhi, Nov. 2 -- Schools and colleges in Chengalpattu will function as usual on Monday, according to local media reports, as Cyclone Murasu moves towards the Andhra Pradesh coast, bringing heavy rainfall to northern Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Chennai will remain closed on Monday, NDTV Profit reported. According to the official notice issued for Chennai district, a one-day holiday was announced for schools and colleges. Separately, Tiruvallur has also declared a holiday for schools as a precaution.
