New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday cited an alleged Rs.736.96-crore financial trail in the case against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia and criticised the Akali Dal and BJP over Punjab's drug crisis. Cheema was referring to the latest chargesheet filed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a disproportionate-assets case.

Addressing a press conference, Cheema said the investigation had examined transactions routed through a network of companies and raised questions about the source and movement of funds. He also alleged that the state had suffered extensive damage from the spread of chitta during the 2007-2017 Akali-BJP government.
