New Delhi, Dec. 8 -- The central government has taken a dim view of IndiGo's mass cancellation of flights-over 2,500 by IndiGo in the first six days of December - that left thousands of passengers stranded at airports. Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu told Parliament on Monday that the government will initiate strict action to make an example of the carrier.

Addressing the Rajya Sabha, Naidu rejected IndiGo's attempt to link the disruptions to the rollout of new flight duty time limitation (FDTL) norms, arguing that the airline had already operated under the updated rules in November.
