Buy or sell stocks, Aug. 4 -- Domestic benchmark indices posted strong gains on Monday, August 3, extending their winning streak to a fourth straight session. The rally was driven by a sharp decline in crude oil prices, fuelled by optimism over a potential peace agreement between the US and Iran.

The BSE Sensex climbed 544 points, or 0.70%, to settle at 78,639, while the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 391 points, or 1.60%, to close at 24,774.30.

Nifty 50 witnessed a strong start to the week, opening with a gap-up of 189 points at 24,572 and extending its rally to close at 24,774, gaining 390.70 points (+1.60%).
