New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- Bihar is reportedly seeking to rebuild its mineral economy after decades of being left with little of the mineral wealth that remained with Jharkhand following the states' bifurcation in 2000. Geological investigations conducted between 2021 and 2024 have identified mineral resources estimated at more than Rs.21,000 crore across Rohtas, Jamui, Gaya and Jehanabad, reported The Indian Express.

The discoveries could potentially generate more than Rs.5,000 crore in annual mining revenue once the identified resources are converted into operational mines, according to state officials.
