New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- All Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will remain open and operate normally on Sunday, September 27, the Finance Ministry said in a statement, as the government moved to limit disruption to banking services ahead of a proposed three-day nationwide strike.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has proposed the strike from September 28 to 30. The proposed strike would follow the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27, resulting in banking services being disrupted for five consecutive days.

The Finance Ministry said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the opening of all bank branches, offices, ATM-link branches and currency chests on September 27.
