New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- The 8th Pay Commission completed nine months on 3 August, i.e., half of its allocated time. Soon it will have completed ten months since its constitution. It was constituted on 3 November 2025 and was given 18 months by the Union Cabinet to draft recommendations on salary revisions, allowances, and other related aspects and to submit its final report.

This means that the final report of the 8th Pay Commission is expected to be submitted to the government by May or June 2027. Given these developments, central government employees, pensioners, and associated stakeholders are closely following the 8th Pay Commission, as the discussion and consultation process has now entered its business end.
