New Delhi, July 9 -- The 8th Pay Commission begins its two-day stakeholder consultations in Kolkata today. These meetings and consultations will run for two days and conclude on 10 July. It is a crucial step in the government's push to collect feedback, ideas and views before making a final decision on recommendations regarding salaries, allowances, and pensions for serving employees and pensioners.

These Kolkata consultations follow the 8th Pay Commission's consultations in Bhubaneswar on 6-7 July, where it interacted with associations, employee unions, pensioners and other stakeholders. Furthermore, similar consultative meetings have already been held in Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Srinagar and Ladakh.
